Thanks Judy
I am preparing a story for MEENISH & Richard STEVENS which I promised to post very soon. Before I do, I would like to have as much information as possible.
I had all but one of the children you listed, that being Margarite, born 1824 in St Andrews. Do you have any more information on Margarite? I cannot find her in any of my references, and I do have many.
Here are the ones I do have with their spouses:
1. Henry George STEVENS (m. Sarah McKENZIE)
2. Theresa (Thirza) STEVENS (m. Charles FOX)
3. Isabella STEVENS (m1. James YOUNG, m2.Malcolm McLEOD)
4. William Richard STEVENS (m. Marie FOULDS)
5. Mary STEVENS (m1.Henry LYONS, m2. Henry SMITH)
6. Robert STEVENS (m. Mary Ann BUTLER)
I would much appreciate comments and further information about this family, S.A.P.

Marguerite
Hi,
I just returned from the 160th anniversary reunion of St. Andrews on the Red. And I learned a few new facts from my researching there. In the Selkirk library there is an old text book that said Little Britain was so named by Richard (later named Lockport).
About the daughter Marguerite here is what I have
Marguerite STEVENS, born 1824; married Jacob SPENCE; born 1830.
Notes for Marguerite STEVENS:
Marguerite is identified in "The Selkirk Settlers..." page 39-3, ID#7279.
Notes for Jacob SPENCE:
Jacob is identified in "The Selkirk Settlers..." page 39-3, ID#7404.
I hope this helps

Sorry for the delay Judy. I missed your posting. Thanks very much for that!
This seems to be the only reference I am aware of that indicates Marguerite as a child of MEENISH & Richard STEVENS. Is the reference you have (“The Selkirk Settlers”) available on line? Does it indicate the information source for this?
Sprague & Frye, ID-4433 does indicate a Marguerite STEVENS b-1824 married to Jacob SPENCE b-1830 but it does not show Marguerite’s parents. It also shows a 2nd marriage for Jacob to Sarah BIRSTON b-1830. I have lots of info on that marriage because I have relatives and friends who are their descendants.
In any case, unless we can find some children (descendants) from the STEVENS union, perhaps it is of little importance anyway.
