The Fiddler's of Cumberland House

I worked with Walter Fiddler of Cumberland House in the 1960s. Because of the difference in spelling, I wonder if Walter and his family are descendents of Peter Fidler who did live at Cumberland House for a few years. Can anyone provide this information? Thanks
