Re: Peter Fidler 1850-1941

Now I get you! OK, I guess if you are his great granddaughter and you have a matching picture to boot you must be right and I must apologize for putting his picture in the wrong place. I will certainly remove it shortly. Is that an exact match to the picture you have? If so then I already have it. I...

Re: Peter Fidler 1850-1941

Hi Gladys The Peter FIDLER (1867-1955) in that picture married Frances Edith SPENCE and lived in Mapleton, Manitoba all his life. This is not your ancestral Peter Charles "Peach Ass" FIDLER (1850-1941) who married Margaret SWAIN (1860-1943) and lived in Saskatchewan. I don't have a picture...

Re: Peter Fidler born 1867

You are not senile yet Ross In fact you are correct; there was an Alex FIDLER on the same Lot 14, but right at the River Road, further east of William FIDLER who I mentioned previously (my brother Everet's place at Hwy 9). The Alex you are referring to was Alexander George FIDLER (1875-1959), son of...

Re: Peter Fidler born 1867

Always nice to hear from you Ross You are absolutely right; thanks very much for pointing out these errors which I have now corrected. Check again and let me know if you see any other errors I may have missed. Regarding the Lot numbers: Censuses 1911 and 1916 indicate Peter FIDLER lived on Lot 8. As...

Re: Peter Fidler Clan on Facebook

Could very well be. It was Aug 30, 1812 that Miles McDonell arrived at the Forks with the first contingent of Lord Selkirk's settlers.

Re: Peter Fidler Clan on Facebook

I'm very pleased to meet you Randy! I checked out your Facebook page; great stuff! As always, I welcome anyone to visit my Peter Fidler Forum. I have a vast accumulation of genealogical information to refer to, and as you can see I have been able to assist many FIDLER descendants. This has been my h...

Re: Sinclairs of St. Peters

There is a good possibility that our William SINCLAIR (1856-1924) was an Interpreter for Lieutenant Alexander MORRIS during the Treaty negotiations of 1874-1877. He may have been a son of Margaret SAUVE & James SINCLAIR, an Indian. However, I cannot be certain of this; I could be wrong. I am sti...

Re: Sinclairs of St. Peters

We seem to be on the right track Phyllis. At least some of the names you listed match what I have. However, I need more clues to make sure we aren’t 'barking up the wrong Tree' (Chuckle – Family Tree). It would make life a lot easier for me if you would just tell me who your grandparents are/were an...

You are absolutely right about William #2's mother. I double-checked and immediately saw my mistake. Thanks for setting me straight.

Re: Sinclairs of St. Peters

Your great grandfather was probably William SINCLAIR (1856-1924). He married Elizabeth THOMAS in the mid to late 1870's or early 1880's. They lived in the St Peters Reserve. In fact, William was a Councilor on the St Peters Indian Band during the 1890's. I have a list of their children, so if you ca...

Re: Cameron Family - St. Peters Manitoba

I might be able to help, but will take me a while to update and review some of my LARSEN files. Does the name Don LARSEN ring any bells? Can't remember where I got his name, but he was apparently a grandson of Ethel Elsie (nee CAMERON) ANDERSON and Otto LARSEN (born 1891 in Copenhagen, Denmark). Wil...

Re: THOMAS FALKNER MILLER

You appear to have much of the same info I have.

Were Glen's parents Myrtle HORAN & Jasper Newton MILLER (born Oct 5, 1895)?

They lived in Saskatchewan; moved to Winnipeg in 1947, where Myrtle died in 1954.

Re: Cameron Family - St. Peters Manitoba

I would need a few more clues.
To begin with, approximately when was Carl born? Is he still living? If not, when did he die?
Do you have any other clues? His brothers or sisters' or aunts/ uncles' names, etc
I have a few LARSEN families in my files who descended from families that came from Demark.
