Re: Joseph Henry Morin

This is too cool - Charlie Aubichon an Mary Aubichon (nee Ross) were my godparents, also Charlie was my dad's first cousin by way of Charlie's mother being my grandpa Norbert Morin's sister. Jean Baptiste Morin is also the brother of Joseph Henry Morin, both are sons of Cyprien Morin and Mary Cook. ...

Re: Cyprien MORIN (1829-1924)

Yes, I had believed that information regarding Cyprien as well. However the truth is that Cyprien was actually Metis. Cyprien's father was (French Canadian) Antoine Morin and his mother was (Metis) Marguerite Boucher. I don't know where the rumor started that Cyprien was from France but here are a f...

Re: Pelagie MORIN (1867-1922)

....and yes, Pelagie Linklater was the daughter of Marie Morin and Peter Linklater. Marie Morin and Cyprien Morin were two children of Antoine Morin and Marguerite Boucher, meaning Joseph Morin and Pelagie Linklater were first cousins.

Re: Pelagie MORIN (1867-1922)

Sorry, you are correct....I noticed the mistake I made after I sent it off. Peter Linklater and Marie Morin is accurate. Hugh Linklater was actually the father of Peter Linklater :D .

Re: MADELEINE FAGNANT (1825-1896)

Most certainly, Pelagie Linklater, and Joseph Morin are my great grandparents, their son Norbert Morin is my paternal grandfather. My late father was named Jules Gabriel Morin , and was born in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan in 1926. This Marie Morin is most definitely one of my relatives, as all the Mor...

Re: MADELEINE FAGNANT (1825-1896)

......one other piece of information. My great grandparents Jean Baptiste Fiddler, and Veronique Gervais were both born in St. Francois Xavier, Red River Settlement, as were many of their family and ancestors. The parish of St. Francois Xavier was formerly known as Granttown, in honor of it's founde...

Re: MADELEINE FAGNANT (1825-1896)

Interesting, I cross referenced my information from ancestry.com, and Genealogies of Red River Households (Pemmican Publications), and your information coincides with the Pemmican Publications book, whereby, Madeleine Faillant is shown as being born in the USA in 1825. However, I only have photocopi...
